Chin Augmentation

Chin augmentation can improve a patient’s profile by bringing the reshaped chin into balance with the rest of the face. In fact, this surgery is often performed at the same time as rhinoplasties and facelifts. Louisville Plastic Surgery uses one of two techniques for adding prominence and contour to the chin, depending on the individual patient.
One technique requires moving the chin bone forward and wiring it into position. With the other, more common approach, Dr. O’Daniel inserts a chin implant through incisions inside the mouth or underneath the chin. Dr. O’Daniel frequently combines fat injections with chin augmentation to achieve a complete restoration of the peri-oral tissues.
