Fat Injectables
A major factor in aging is the loss of fat under the skin. In 1996, Dr. O’Daniel adopted the fat transfer technique developed by fat grafting pioneer Dr. Syidney Coleman. Dr. O’Daniel has now followed some of his patients who have received this treatment for 15 years to monitor how those injections have held up He has seen consistent improvement in patients who received this treatment method.
Your body’s own fat makes an excellent filler material to help restore lost facial volume and reduce wrinkles. This fat can restore creased or sunken areas of the face, add fullness to lips or cheeks, and improve skin texture. There is plenty of evidence to show the presence of stem cells in fat. These stem cells have a restorative effect on the tissue it is injected into.
During this procedure, Dr. O’Daniel takes fat from your abdomen, buttocks or thighs and inject it into the desired treatment area.
Because the fat comes from your own body, there is greater potential for longer-lasting results. How long the treatment lasts depends on several factors. Those factors may include:
- Your surgeon’s experience and skill
- The area of the face being injected
Although many of Dr. O’Daniel’s patients show excellent results up to 15 years after treatment, The procedure may be repeated at intervals if desired to retain or modify the look.
